Suryaa National Desk: Former Congress president and Rajya Sabha member Sonia Gandhi has shared details regarding her political journey and personal life in her upcoming memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love, scheduled for release on November 10.

In the book, Gandhi explains her initial reluctance toward politics, noting that she had previously prioritized her personal life. She states that following the death of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, her children, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, strongly urged her to remain away from active politics.

Gandhi describes experiencing significant internal conflict during that period. To resolve her uncertainty regarding her responsibilities, she studied the Bhagavad Gita. She writes that the message of 'Nishkama Karma' taught by Lord Krishna helped clear her doubts, leading her to realize that performing one's duty is paramount and ultimately influencing her decision to enter active politics.
