Suryaa Web Desk: Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about one of the most memorable moments of his relationship with Alia Bhatt. During his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, Ranbir recalled how he proposed to Alia during their trip to Kenya’s Maasai Mara, with three lions just a short distance away.
The actor described the experience as one of the most beautiful and unforgettable moments of his life.
A Proposal in the Middle of Maasai Mara
According to Ranbir, he had secretly planned the proposal during the couple’s visit to Maasai Mara. He had already arranged for their guide and driver to stop at a particular spot in the middle of the wilderness.
Ranbir had also carried a ring with him and wanted the special moment to be photographed. He asked the guide to capture pictures from a distance while he got down on one knee in front of Alia.
However, the romantic moment came with an unexpected element of danger.
Three lions were reportedly around 100 feet away when Ranbir proposed. Despite the presence of the wild animals, he went ahead with his plan.
Recalling the moment, Ranbir humorously compared himself to a mouse while describing Alia as his “lioness.”

Ranbir explained that although he had the confidence to plan the proposal, the presence of three lions nearby made the situation considerably more intimidating.
He got down on one knee and asked Alia to marry him, describing the experience as extraordinary and something he would always remember.
His story left Kaun Banega Crorepati host Amitabh Bachchan impressed. Bachchan also reacted humorously to the unusual circumstances surrounding the proposal.
How Ranbir and Alia’s Love Story Began
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's relationship became public around 2018. The two grew closer while working together on Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra.
Their relationship eventually led to marriage, with Ranbir surprising Alia with the proposal during their Maasai Mara trip in Kenya.
Alia had previously spoken about the proposal and revealed that Ranbir's surprise completely caught her off guard. She had not expected him to propose during the trip.
From Maasai Mara to Marriage
The couple got married on April 14, 2022, in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai attended by close friends and family.
Later that year, in November, Ranbir and Alia welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor.
