Suryaa Business Desk: Berkshire Hathaway, the holding company led by Warren Buffett, has released its third-quarter financial results. The report indicates a slight decline in operating profits, primarily attributed to a downturn in the insurance underwriting division.

According to the results, the company's operating profit fell by six percent to over 12 billion dollars compared to the same period last year. The net income, which includes gains and losses from market stocks, reached 22 billion dollars.

Despite the decline in operating profit, the company executed a significant share buyback, repurchasing over nine billion dollars worth of shares in a single quarter. This move, combined with share repurchases made earlier this year, reflects an acceleration in the company's investment in its own stock. The company stated that these actions are intended to provide value to shareholders while maintaining a strong financial position amid global economic uncertainty.
