Suryaa International Desk: The Turkish parliament has officially ratified a tripartite defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Known as the Mecca Defence Alliance, the pact was previously established during a summit attended by the leaders of the three nations.

The agreement includes a provision stating that an attack on any member nation will be treated as an attack on all three, requiring a joint response. The pact aims to address regional security challenges, specifically threats from Houthi rebels supported by Iran. It outlines frameworks for enhancing military cooperation, conducting joint military exercises, and sharing defense technology.

The alliance will operate under a joint secretariat, with key decisions coordinated by the defense and military leadership of the three countries. The agreement facilitates the deployment of Turkish and Pakistani forces to protect the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the member nations intend to pursue joint strategies to counter terrorism and strengthen border security.
