The accused allegedly sent threatening messages via social media platforms, including Instagram, to actors such as Ayushmann Khurrana and Tusshar Kapoor, demanding money.
Police investigations revealed that the suspect used voice messages while posing as criminals to attempt to extort funds. Authorities believe the individual acted out of a desire for easy money by exploiting the current atmosphere of fear, noting that the suspect has no known links to organized criminal groups.
Mumbai police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter. The accused is being transferred from Bengaluru to Mumbai on transit remand for further questioning. Law enforcement officials have stated that strict legal action will be taken against those targeting film industry professionals with such threats.
