Suryaa International Desk: Former US President Donald Trump has offered self-justifying remarks following the Republican Party's defeat to the Democrats in the US House of Representatives midterm election results.
Reacting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated that the Republican Party suffered a loss because he was not directly contesting in the election. He expressed confidence that the party would have achieved a grand victory had he been on the ballot.
In the midterm election results, the opposition Democratic Party won 158 seats to establish dominance in the House, while the Republican Party was restricted to 99 seats. Amid growing criticism over the party's performance, Trump's remarks attributing the defeat to his absence from the race have become a topic of discussion in political circles.
