Suryaa News Desk: The territorial elections held in the Madugula mandal concluded peacefully on Thursday without any untoward incidents. Despite ongoing rain in the region, voters gathered at polling stations from the morning, with rural residents and women showing interest in exercising their franchise.

While the polling process proceeded smoothly, some confusion occurred regarding the distribution of voter slips. Voters faced difficulties as representatives of major political parties did not fully distribute slips in all areas. Revenue officials and party workers intervened to ensure eligible voters received their slips.

Out of 56,538 total voters, 40,741 votes were cast, resulting in a turnout of approximately 72 percent. The participants included men, women, and one transgender voter. A total of 15,797 individuals did not cast their votes. Officials expressed satisfaction with the 72 percent turnout and the successful, conflict-free completion of the election process across the 21 segments.
