Suryaa News Desk: The local body elections in Kadiyam Mandal recorded a voter turnout of 71.57 percent. Out of a total of 62,081 registered voters, 44,436 individuals exercised their franchise, comprising 22,309 men and 22,117 women. A total of 17,645 voters did not participate in the polling process.

Discussions are currently ongoing regarding the factors that contributed to the turnout levels. Reports indicate that delays and coordination issues in the distribution of voter slips caused difficulties for some voters. Unlike previous instances where booth-level officers delivered slips to households, issues in the distribution process this time left some voters unaware of their designated polling stations.

Additionally, it is believed that adverse weather conditions, including consecutive storms and heavy rains over the past ten days, may have influenced the polling process. Local discourse suggests that the turnout could have been higher had voter slips been distributed effectively and weather conditions remained favorable. Opinions are being expressed that the administrative authorities should review the reasons behind the recorded voter turnout.
