Suryaa Telangana Desk: The RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) has called for a bus bandh across the joint Khammam district to mourn the death of Manuguru depot conductor Gundla Pravalika.

On October 25, a dispute occurred between conductor Pravalika and a passenger named Banoth Mounika regarding a half-ticket and change on a Palle Velugu bus traveling from Manuguru to Bhadrachalam near Mittagudem in Ashwapuram mandal. During the altercation, the passenger pushed the conductor from the moving bus. Pravalika fell under the rear tires, sustaining severe leg injuries. After undergoing treatment for ten days at Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Hyderabad, she passed away on Tuesday night.

In protest of her death, the JAC called for a bandh on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, resulting in the complete suspension of bus services at the Madhira RTC depot. RTC workers across Telangana are wearing black badges while on duty to express their protest.

The JAC is demanding strict legal action against the accused and the implementation of safety measures to prevent such attacks on RTC staff. Additionally, they are requesting that the government and the RTC organization provide Rs 1 crore in compensation to Pravalika's family.
