Suryaa Telangana Desk: Concerns are being raised regarding the functionality of CCTV cameras installed at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Junction in Keesara. Although cameras have been set up on all four sides of this major junction, there are doubts regarding whether they are operating correctly and recording clear footage.

Local residents and the Keesara Mandal Ambedkar Sangham have questioned whether there is adequate monitoring of the equipment. Critics suggest that the cameras are only checked by officials after accidents or untoward incidents occur, rather than being subject to routine maintenance. Locals expressed concern that if the cameras are non-functional, it would be impossible to gather evidence following any incidents.

Given that the Ambedkar Junction serves as a connector for major roads with high traffic volume, residents emphasize the need for constant surveillance, particularly at night. Referencing a past incident involving alcohol consumption near the Ambedkar statue, the community is calling on police officials to implement proactive safety measures to prevent further occurrences.

The public maintains that CCTV cameras should serve as a tool for crime prevention and ensuring public safety, rather than being used solely for post-incident evidence collection. The Keesara community and the Ambedkar Sangham have urged police officials to inspect the cameras, repair any faulty units, and ensure comprehensive surveillance at the junction.
