Suryaa Sports Desk: Following a victory in the first match of the five-game ODI series, the Indian team is preparing for the second ODI against New Zealand, scheduled for November 7 in Wellington. India currently leads the series 1-0 after their win in Auckland.
Management is looking to strengthen the pace attack, and Hyderabad pacer Mohammed Siraj is expected to return to the playing XI. Siraj was rested for the first ODI as part of a strategic decision ahead of the Test series against New Zealand. Having participated in the India-A practice match in Lincoln, he is now available for the Wellington fixture.
The inclusion of the senior pacer has led to discussions regarding which player might be dropped from the team. In the first ODI, Arshdeep Singh took four wickets, Gurnoor Brar claimed three, and Anshul Kamboj also performed well. Given the strong performance of these young pacers, captain Shubman Gill and the coaching staff face a selection challenge. Management is currently evaluating the performance of bowlers who did not take wickets despite delivering with the new ball to determine the necessary changes for the upcoming match.
