Suryaa Entertainment Desk: Prominent producer and director KC Bokadia has expressed serious concern regarding the rising costs of film production in Bollywood, specifically citing expenses related to vanity vans, personal staff, and luxury demands by actors during shoots.
Bokadia stated that some actors currently demand between four and ten vanity vans at shooting locations, while also imposing additional costs for gyms and other special facilities. He noted that expenses for personal staff, such as managers and cooks, are often charged to the producers. According to Bokadia, these additional costs consume more than half of a film's budget, causing significant financial strain for small and medium-scale producers. He warned that such unlimited demands could threaten the survival of the film industry.
Highlighting the professional conduct of established stars, Bokadia praised Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Rajinikanth. He stated that these actors have never burdened producers with the salaries of their personal staff throughout their careers. He urged the current generation of actors and technicians to observe the commitment of these senior stars and act with consideration toward producers.
Bokadia emphasized that for the film industry to progress, there must be mutual respect and understanding. He warned that if producers are not supported, producing films will become increasingly difficult in the future. These comments have become a topic of discussion within Bollywood and trade circles.
