Suryaa Entertainment Desk: Renowned makeup artist Pattanam Rasheed has shared insights into his four-decade career within the Malayalam film industry. Throughout his professional journey, he has contributed his services to over 2,500 films.
Rasheed recounted his early days, which began in locations such as Kodaikanal and Madras. Driven by a passion for theater, he moved to Madras and initially faced difficulties while seeking opportunities, including instances of being mocked by security staff at film studios. He began his career as an assistant makeup artist, enduring various challenges before reaching his current standing in the industry.
He identified his opportunity at Navodaya Studio as a turning point in his career. Rasheed transitioned to an independent makeup artist with the film "Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare," starring Mohanlal, while simultaneously working on another project featuring Mammootty. He noted his satisfaction in seeing his name on posters at theaters when both films were released on the same day.
Reflecting on his experiences, Rasheed described his bond with Malayalam superstars as significant and highlighted the close relationships formed with actors while working in the makeup chair. He encourages the younger generation of technicians to remain dedicated to their craft.
