Suryaa News Desk: The MPTC and ZPTC elections in Palasa mandal concluded peacefully on Thursday. Polling was conducted across 47 centers without any untoward incidents. Out of the 35,212 registered voters in the mandal, 23,579 cast their votes, resulting in a 66.96 percent turnout.
District ASP Srinivas Rao inspected the polling center at Tekkalipatnam. At this location, tokens were issued to 25 voters who were still in the queue after 5:00 PM to ensure they could cast their votes.
Heavy police security was deployed in sensitive areas, including Chinanchala, Tekkalipatnam, and Pedanchala. In locations where police presence was limited, polling center security was managed with the assistance of ex-servicemen and other officials. Some voters faced difficulties in various parts of the mandal due to the delayed distribution of voter slips.
A notable event occurred at the Makannapalli polling center, where a newlywed bride cast her vote. The bride, daughter of the local TDP MPTC candidate, visited the polling station to vote before proceeding to her wedding ceremony in Vajjrapukothuru mandal.
Following the conclusion of the polls, ballot boxes were sealed in the presence of political party agents. The boxes and election officials were transported to the strong room at Palasa Junior College via five routes under police escort using RTC buses. The strong room was subsequently sealed in the presence of political party leaders and Palasa RDO R. Appala Raju.
