Suryaa Telangana Desk: Officials conducted surprise inspections at various rice shops in Siddipet town on Monday evening. The inspections were carried out following directives from the Commissioner of Civil Supplies and the District Additional Collector (Revenue), Lakshmi Kiran.
The inspection team included District Civil Supplies Officer Brahmaraju, District Weights and Measures Officer Shivaranjani, District GST Officer Venugopal Reddy, and Civil Supplies Deputy Tahsildars Rajireddy and Asif.
During the checks, officials identified weight discrepancies at Siddhi Vinayaka Traders and Vijayadurga Traders. The District Weights and Measures Officer has registered a case regarding these findings.
Officials warned traders that strict action will be taken against those who engage in weight fraud or sell rice at prices contrary to government-mandated rates. Traders were instructed to ensure fine rice is available at government-prescribed prices and to maintain transparency in weights. Authorities stated that inspections will continue to ensure market price control and consumer protection, and that legal action will be taken against those found violating regulations.
