Suryaa Entertainment Desk: The film The Last Man in Tower, based on the novel of the same name by author Aravind Adiga, is set to stream on the OTT platform ZEE5 starting November 6. Directed by Ben Rekhi, the film is produced by Spirit Media, the production house of actor and producer Rana Daggubati.
The story is set in an old housing society in Mumbai. Manoj Bajpayee portrays Yogesh Mishra, a retired physics teacher who refuses to vacate his apartment despite an offer of a large sum of money for the building's redevelopment. While other residents agree to the redevelopment deal, Yogesh chooses to fight alone to protect his home and the relationships within the society.
The film features Boman Irani as developer Dharmen Shah and Divya Dutta as Sangeeta Puri, a housewife. The narrative explores the conflict between the human desire for a better life and the value of social unity and personal bonds. The film team expects this emotional drama, which reflects the hopes and aspirations of the middle class, to resonate with audiences.
