Suryaa International Desk: A wave of protests led by young people has reached Germany, with demonstrations held across 34 cities under the "Gen-Z Regelt" (Gen-Z Takes Charge) movement. More than 160,000 young people participated in these rallies on Halloween night to express opposition to government policies.

The protesters voiced dissatisfaction regarding rising living costs, a lack of infrastructure in the education sector, and mandatory military service. Large groups of students and young employees gathered in major cities, including Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Cologne, blocking streets. Students highlighted the dilapidated state of campus buildings and a lack of suitable learning environments, expressing frustration that government promises have not addressed the future of the youth. The movement, organized via social media, has drawn attention from German political circles.

In response to the demonstrations, authorities and police have increased vigilance. While police were deployed to ensure the protests remained peaceful, some business centers and shops installed protective boards on windows due to concerns regarding potential unrest. Officials stated that they would not tolerate violence or disruptions to public order. Analysts suggest that this level of youth mobilization in Germany could impact the country's future economic and social policies.
