Suryaa Sports Desk: A new chapter has been written in Formula 1 racing history. Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Italy has become the youngest F1 World Champion at the age of 20 years and 68 days. Antonelli secured this title by finishing third at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

With this achievement, Antonelli surpassed the previous record held by German driver Sebastian Vettel, who won the championship in 2010 at 23 years and 134 days old. The Mexico City Grand Prix featured two safety cars and a 33-minute red flag period. In the race, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished first, and Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton finished second. Antonelli’s third-place finish secured his position at the top of the points table.

This victory marks the first time an Italian driver has won the Formula 1 World Championship since Alberto Ascari in 1953. Antonelli achieved this title in his second season of Formula 1 competition.
