Suryaa Entertainment Desk: Actress Athulya Chandra, known for her work in Telugu and Malayalam cinema, has been taken into police custody following serious criminal allegations in Kochi. The actress, who appeared in the film Mathu Vadalara, is accused of being part of a group that targeted a local doctor for robbery.

According to police, the incident occurred at an apartment where Athulya Chandra was staying with actor and producer Bibin Perumbilli. On Monday morning, the doctor received a call requesting urgent medical assistance for a relative at the apartment. Upon arriving at the location around 6:00 AM, the doctor encountered approximately twelve individuals.

The group allegedly physically assaulted the doctor and forcibly took his mobile phone, cash, a watch, and wireless earphones. Police investigations indicate that the suspects threatened the doctor to prevent him from reporting the incident, warning that they would file a false case of attempted sexual assault against him if he disclosed what had happened.

The victim managed to leave the premises and filed a complaint at a local police station. Following the complaint, Kochi police initiated an investigation and took Athulya Chandra and her associates into custody. Authorities are currently investigating whether the incident was a premeditated robbery for financial gain or if other motives were involved. Police are also looking into the potential involvement of additional individuals as the investigation continues.
