Suryaa Telangana Desk: Telangana activists have been taken into preventive custody by police in the Bejjur mandal. The arrests follow a call by activists to protest the death of Telangana movement participant Vemula Laxman Goud and to demand that the government fulfill promises made to movement participants.

Activists had called for a siege of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s residence, alleging government negligence in addressing their issues. In response to the planned protest, police have initiated preventive arrests and house arrests across the state. The detention of activists in Bejjur has become a subject of local discussion.

Participants are demanding that the government implement promises including the provision of 250-square-yard house plots, monthly pensions, identity cards, and health security. Concerns have been raised regarding the government's decision to conduct preventive arrests rather than addressing the grievances of the activists. Movement leaders, including Kummari Lingaiah and Telangana Javeed, were involved in the proceedings.
