Suryaa Business Desk: The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has officially confirmed that North Korean hackers are responsible for a massive theft of digital assets valued at over $6 billion from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. The FBI has issued an urgent warning regarding this incident, which is recorded as the largest cyber theft in the history of virtual assets.

According to the FBI, the hackers are rapidly converting the stolen funds into Ethereum. To conceal the origins of these assets, the perpetrators are rerouting the funds through decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms and instant-swap services. The agency warned that sophisticated money laundering methods are being utilized to evade detection by international agencies and crypto organizations.

Investigators stated that the North Korean government is engaging in these crypto thefts to raise funds for nuclear weapons and missile projects. The FBI has called upon cryptocurrency exchanges, DeFi platforms, and financial institutions to continuously monitor for suspicious transactions, track wallet addresses associated with the hackers, and immediately freeze them.
