Suryaa Business Desk: Logistics and supply chain services company Delhivery Limited reported a strong financial performance for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. For the first time in the company's history, quarterly operating revenue exceeded the ₹3,000 crore milestone. Revenue for the quarter ending in September reached ₹3,066.4 crore, marking a 19.4 percent year-on-year growth compared to the ₹2,568 crore recorded in the same quarter last year.
The company's operating profitability saw significant growth, with EBITDA increasing three-fold, or approximately 201 percent, to ₹205 crore from ₹68 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Consequently, the EBITDA margin expanded from 2.7 percent to 6.7 percent. Furthermore, Delhivery transitioned from a net loss of ₹51 crore in the second quarter of the previous fiscal year to a consolidated net profit of ₹40.64 crore.
This growth was driven by increased volumes in the express parcel segment. Driven by the start of the festive season and e-commerce orders, express parcel shipment volumes grew 32 percent year-on-year to 325 million. Additionally, part-truckload (PTL) freight volume increased by 14.2 percent to 5.45 lakh metric tonnes. The company attributed its profitability to network automation, cost control measures, and revenue from its newly launched 'Delhivery Local' in-city transport services.
