Suryaa News Desk: During the Palasa-Kasibugga municipal elections on Sunday, police took the husbands of two YCP candidates into custody. Those detained included Meesala Suresh Babu, husband of 11th ward candidate Meesala Sushobhita, along with his associates Art Lakshman and Bonela Ramesh. Additionally, police detained Duvvada Ramanaiah, husband of 6th ward YCP candidate Duvvada Satyavathi, along with some of his associates.
As rowdy-sheeter cases were registered against these individuals and they had previously been bound over by police, they were taken into custody as a precautionary measure when they arrived at the polling centers. They were released after the conclusion of polling.
Separately, minor arguments occurred between YCP and TDP leaders at the 19th ward polling centers 19/1 and 19/2. A minor clash also took place at the 21st ward polling center 21/2 after TDP leaders pushed over a YCP tent during an argument between the two parties. Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
