Suryaa Business Desk: Despite uncertainty in the global tourism and hospitality sectors, Airbnb has reported growth that exceeded expectations in its latest quarter. The company announced an increase in its annual revenue outlook and revealed a plan for a significant stock buyback.

In the third quarter of the current fiscal year, Airbnb recorded consolidated revenue of approximately 4.87 billion dollars. This represents a 19 percent increase compared to the previous year, marking the fastest growth rate in three years. Earnings per share (EPS) reached 3.16 dollars, surpassing analyst projections. The company’s profitability was supported by a 16 percent increase in global bookings and nights stayed, which totaled 155 million.

While other travel and hospitality firms have expressed concerns regarding slowing consumer demand, Airbnb reported strong results driven by international travelers and new users on the platform. Consequently, the company has revised its annual revenue growth forecast from mid-teens to high-teens.

Airbnb has reduced operational costs by utilizing artificial intelligence in its engineering and customer support departments. To provide returns to shareholders, the company has initiated a 12 billion dollar stock buyback program. These developments have influenced investor sentiment in the global technology and travel markets.
