Suryaa National Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with security forces stationed in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. During the visit, the Prime Minister stated that the region has become free of Naxalism due to a firm stance against the issue, paving the way for development.
Addressing the personnel, the Prime Minister stated that he considers them his family and chose to spend the festival with them. He acknowledged the service of the soldiers working for the nation's defense and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The Prime Minister commended the strategic progress made by security forces in the Bastar region. He specifically noted the record achieved by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Bastar forests, where no lives have been lost in the line of duty over the past 12 months. He attributed this success to the effective strategies employed by the forces.
The Prime Minister criticized the approach of previous governments regarding the Naxalism issue. He stated that the problem escalated because previous administrations were lenient and failed to eradicate the issue over several decades. He asserted that peace and development in Bastar are now possible due to the current government's resolve and the efficiency of the security forces.
