Suryaa Sports Desk: The West Indies team, which is full of powerful hitters, is not the right way to just control them from scoring runs, but to chase wickets right from the start. Indian vice-captain Tilak Verma stated that it is not the right strategy to control the West Indies team which is full of powerful hitters by not scoring runs, but their main strategy should be to chase wickets from the beginning. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he shared Team India's strategic thoughts regarding the matches against the Caribbean team.

Tilak analyzed that the West Indies team has plenty of batsmen capable of playing big shots down to the lower order, and defensive tactics will not work against such a line-up. He said that if you bowl with the intention of scoring runs, the opposing batsmen will have a chance to gain control easily, instead, you can rule the match only if you bowl aggressively and take wickets regularly.   He stated that putting the opposition under pressure during the powerplay phase on Indian pitches dictates the outcome of the match.

It was revealed that the team is making plans on the pacers taking early wickets with the new ball and the spinners stopping the flow of runs in the middle overs and breaking up key partnerships.
