Russia Targets Ukraine Energy Infrastructure; Ukraine Strikes Russian Industrial Sites

Suryaa International Desk: Russia has launched intense drone and missile attacks against Ukraine, targeting key energy infrastructure. The strikes have caused significant damage to power substations and transformers, resulting in power outages for millions of people across various regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that electricity supply has been disrupted in many parts of the country and stated that restoration efforts are underway. Engineering teams are working to repair the damaged lines, though ongoing attacks are hindering progress.

International defense experts suggest these attacks are aimed at damaging Ukraine's power infrastructure ahead of the winter season, affecting electricity and heating for residential areas.

In response, Ukraine conducted long-range drone strikes on Russian territory, targeting industrial and energy facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov regions. Ukrainian military sources reported that a major industrial center and a defense-related facility were damaged, resulting in significant financial losses for Russia.

The escalation of attacks and counter-attacks has heightened tensions in Eastern Europe. While international efforts to address the crisis continue, there are currently no signs of progress toward peace negotiations. The ongoing conflict continues to result in casualties and significant property damage.
