Suryaa International Desk: Over 160,000 young people participated in protest rallies across various German cities on Halloween night. The demonstrations, organized by Gen-Z youth, were held to protest against government economic policies, rising costs of living, unemployment, and delays in environmental protection.

The youth, expressing dissatisfaction with traditional political parties, coordinated the movement through social media. Large crowds gathered in major cities including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, and Cologne, where participants wore Halloween costumes while voicing their grievances. Concerns regarding the future, lack of job opportunities, and rising house rents were cited as primary drivers of the protests.

German police were deployed in large numbers to manage the crowds and established security perimeters in sensitive areas to prevent untoward incidents. Authorities stated that peaceful protests were permitted but warned that legal action would be taken in the event of violence.

Amid these protests, reports indicate that the German government coalition held an emergency meeting to discuss addressing the issues raised by the youth. Analysts suggest that this level of youth mobilization in Germany could have significant implications for future political developments.
