Suryaa National Desk: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that attempts to weaken or dismantle India will not succeed, while asserting that a change of government alone cannot resolve the country's major challenges. Speaking at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Vijayadashami celebrations in Nagpur on Tuesday, Bhagwat said some forces were attempting to disrupt India’s progress and that certain ambitious leaders were also becoming part of such efforts. He maintained that India’s development and social stability should not be undermined by political or social unrest.
Bhagwat referred to developments in several countries, including France, Albania, Bangladesh and Nepal, while discussing what he described as attempts to bring about regime change. According to his remarks, changing a government does not automatically address the underlying problems faced by a society. He argued that protests in a democracy should focus on finding solutions rather than creating further divisions, instability or confrontation. His comments come amid political discussions and protests in Delhi over alleged irregularities connected with the revision of electoral rolls.
The RSS chief also said that India had made progress through firm policies and leadership over recent years, and suggested that this progress had attracted opposition from forces seeking to weaken the country. Bhagwat claimed that some international interests viewed India’s growth as a challenge and were attempting to influence developments within the country. These statements were presented as his assessment of the broader geopolitical and domestic situation during the Vijayadashami address.
Bhagwat further stressed the importance of social unity and responsible democratic participation. He said disagreements and public protests are part of a democratic system, but argued that they should remain focused on addressing genuine concerns and finding constructive solutions. His Vijayadashami speech came as the RSS marked its 101st foundation year, giving added significance to his comments on national unity, social harmony and the challenges facing India.
