Suryaa Telangana Desk: Revenue officials, led by Tahsildar Ashok, seized unauthorized borewells dug at the Ankura venture located in survey number 116 on the outskirts of Mammadapur in Kondapur mandal. The Tahsildar stated that precautionary measures were taken based on the instructions of the District Collector and the Revenue Divisional Officer, keeping in view the current water crisis and drought conditions.
Speaking on the occasion, Tahsildar Ashok directed Revenue Inspectors and Village Administration Officers to monitor areas near agricultural fields and lakes to prevent the digging of new borewells. He clarified that any borewell installed without proper permissions must be seized under the WALTA Act. He advised that borewells should be dug only for public drinking water requirements after securing the necessary permissions, and warned that any negligence in duty would be taken seriously.
Revenue Inspector Mallesham, Village Administration Officers Ramesh and Pandu, along with other revenue staff, were present during the operation.
