Suryaa International Desk: A private business jet crashed in a residential area of Greenacres, Palm Beach County, in South Florida on Sunday afternoon. The aircraft, a Learjet 60, was carrying nine passengers. Following the impact with the ground, the aircraft caught fire. U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy confirmed that all nine individuals on board died in the incident.

The aircraft was traveling from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas when it experienced technical issues. The pilot issued distress calls declaring an emergency shortly before the aircraft veered to the right and crashed near a residential complex and a busy road. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who inspected the site, stated that the impact created a large crater, describing the crash as resembling a missile strike. Officials noted that there were no casualties on the ground as the aircraft did not strike any homes.

The crash resulted in power outages in the surrounding area and thick black smoke. Fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration have deployed investigative teams to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the accident.
