Keerthy Suresh, who emerged as the leading actress in the South film industry and won the National Award, is all set to entertain the audience on the OTT platform soon. She is foraying into the digital arena with the web series Akka, which is coming to the audience through popular streaming platform Netflix. However, she revealed in a recent interview that some people harassed her while she was doing the web series and warned her that it is not appropriate to do such OTT projects as she is recognized as a theatrical star. However, she made it clear that she did not pay much attention to their warnings and only preferred different storylines and characters that she liked.
Keerthy Suresh believes that there is no difference between the film industry and the OTT medium in today's modern age. She stated that after the covid pandemic, there have been major changes in the entertainment sector globally and digital series are also gaining equal popularity along with theatrical movies. She said that as an actress she is always ready to act in all kinds of mediums and OTT should never be looked down upon. She expressed confidence that both cinema and digital mediums will move forward in parallel rather than competing with each other. Keerthy Suresh Bhavani will be seen in the highly ambitious web series Akka, jointly produced by Netflix and YRF Entertainment.
This period action drama is set in the fictional town of Penuru in the background of the criminal underworld run by women. Keerthy Suresh explained that while the series also stars another talented actress Radhika Apte in the lead role, her character will be very calm and possess serious leadership qualities. She revealed that she always prefers to act in any language if it has a good story and interesting characters, regardless of language barriers.
