Suryaa International Desk: Tensions have escalated in West Asia following Israeli airstrikes on Gaza. Medical personnel and local officials reported that at least eight Palestinians, including five police officers, were killed in separate attacks. The Civil Defense Department stated that the strikes targeted Gaza City and the Khan Younis area.

The Gaza Interior Ministry reported that Israeli warplanes targeted police officers on duty in Khan Younis, resulting in five deaths. A separate airstrike in Gaza City resulted in three additional fatalities. Several individuals sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Reports indicate that the Israeli military initiated these actions alleging that Hamas factions violated a ceasefire agreement and were rearming. These developments suggest that the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement has weakened and that peace negotiations between the two sides have stalled. Human rights organizations have expressed concern over the ongoing loss of life despite the ceasefire. International efforts to establish peace in Gaza have yet to reach a resolution, leaving civilians facing significant hardships. Analysts warn that these attacks may lead to further violence in the region.
