Long-Haul Logistics, aiming to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in industrial transport sectors, has rolled out battery swapping infrastructure for heavy-duty trucks in a fully automated manner for the first time in the country.
Battery exchange in less than five minutes: This station offers a new solution where charging time has become a major constraint for heavy commercial electric vehicles. A technology has been established here to remove a discharged battery and install a fully charged battery in less than 5 minutes with the help of robotic systems and laser guided technology. This will save drivers from having to wait hours for charging, significantly reducing downtime and increasing vehicle transport efficiency and productivity.
Green Logistics Revolution in Mumbai Corridor: The company has clarified that through this facility established on a key transport route connecting Mumbai's industrial clusters, the operating cost of EV heavy trucks will be significantly reduced compared to diesel vehicles. Industry sources believe that this battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model will help reduce carbon emissions while promoting eco-friendly logistics. Company representatives disclosed that more swapping stations will be set up in other major highway corridors in the coming days.
