Amaravati: The National Medical Council (NMC) has responded positively to the plea sought by the state government and Dr.
NTR Arogya University (NTRUHS) to extend the deadline for medical education admissions in Andhra Pradesh. While the state round counseling process in the state ended on October 23 itself, the closing date for MBBS, BDS admissions will end tomorrow as per the pre-fixed schedule. But despite the completion of counselling, around 112 NRI quota MBBS seats across the state are still unfilled.
In this background, NTR University has written a letter to NMC requesting to extend the admission deadline by another 15 days and also to reduce the cut-off percentile of NEET-UG so that the remaining seats can be filled. Responding to this, the National Medical Council clarified that they will consider the proposals sent by the AP government.
