Suryaa National Desk: The Tamil Nadu government has extended support to Andhra Pradesh in anticipation of the severe cyclonic storm 'Murasu' approaching the coast. To assist in the immediate restoration of the power system, the Tamil Nadu electricity department has deployed 500 personnel. Official sources confirmed that 25 special teams, along with necessary heavy machinery and electrical equipment, have been sent to Andhra Pradesh.
The Andhra Pradesh government took precautionary measures following warnings that the cyclone could cause strong winds and damage thousands of electricity poles in coastal areas. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay over the phone to request human resources and technical assistance for power restoration work. The Tamil Nadu government responded positively to this request and dispatched the relief teams.
The cyclone is expected to cross the coast near Nellore, Kavali, Ongole, and Machilipatnam. Authorities have taken measures to ensure there is no disruption due to the intensity of the storm. Once the cyclone crosses the coast, the expert personnel from Tamil Nadu will work alongside local officials to restore damaged power lines and resume electricity supply to the public. Relief operations are being carried out through coordination between the state governments.
