Suryaa News Desk: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has requested assistance from the Tamil Nadu government for power infrastructure restoration in anticipation of Cyclone Murasu, which is moving toward the Andhra Pradesh coast. In a phone conversation with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, Naidu explained that the cyclone is expected to cause significant damage to the power network, including the collapse of thousands of electricity poles and transformers due to strong winds and heavy rains.

Naidu requested that Tamil Nadu send technical personnel, cranes, and pole erectors to Andhra Pradesh to facilitate emergency restoration work. Chief Minister Vijay responded positively, assuring that his government is prepared to provide all necessary support. He confirmed that he has directed Tamil Nadu electricity officials to immediately deploy specialized task forces and technical staff to Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra Pradesh government is also planning to seek assistance from Karnataka if necessary, in addition to the support already being provided by Telangana electricity personnel who are currently working on the ground following the previous Arnab cyclone. To prevent prolonged power outages in coastal districts, the government has prepared 6,000 to 8,000 electricity poles, conductors, and transformers. The administration aims to fully restore power supply within 48 hours of the cyclone making landfall.
