Surya National Political Bureau, Chandigarh/New Delhi: A very important and pivotal development has taken place in the politics of Punjab. Reliable sources revealed that the re-alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which was canceled in the wake of the long-running farm laws, has almost come to an end.

It is reported that the secret consultation between the top leadership of the two parties has been fruitful and Shiromani Akali Dal will retain its old priority and get the status of 'Senior Partner' in this alliance. Basic Consensus on Adjustment of Seats: While the Akali Dal is contesting the lion's share of seats in the state assembly as in the past, the basic formula seems to have been finalized to give the BJP a slightly better number of seats than before. Political strategies at the central level, both parties have come to the conclusion that uniting the traditional vote banks of the two parties is the best way to deal with the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the opposition Congress in Punjab. The alliance is expected to help unite rural Sikh voters as well as urban Hindu voters in Punjab.

Mutual understanding on farmer issues: It is being reported that the Akali Dal has discussed with the central leadership on the agricultural issues and demands of the farmers which had caused the alliance to break up in the past and got some positive assurances. Political analysts say that this reunification is being done for the development of Punjab, security of the border state and social harmony. Soon, there is a chance that the BJP national president and the Akali Dal leader will jointly announce this alliance officially in front of the media.
