Suryaa National Desk: A large number of devotees gathered at the historic Tawang Monastery in Arunachal Pradesh to view the sacred relics of Gautama Buddha. More than 21,000 devotees from across the country and abroad visited to view the relics and offer prayers. Buddhist monks, nuns, and local residents from Tawang and surrounding border areas also attended the event.

The relics returned to Arunachal Pradesh after a 13-year interval. They were transported from the National Museum in New Delhi under high security. The relics were originally discovered during excavations in Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh.

Special exhibitions were organized at Tawang Monastery during the event. An exhibition hosted by the International Buddhist Confederation explained the search for the relics and their historical background. Additionally, a display curated by the National Museum showcased the ancient culture and art of Buddhism.

Following the conclusion of the program at Tawang Monastery, the relics will be moved to the Lower Gompa in Bomdila for public viewing. Subsequently, they will be exhibited at the Golden Pagoda in Namsai. The Union Ministry of Culture, the International Buddhist Confederation, and state government officials are organizing the tour.
