North Korea Denies Binance Hack Allegations and Conducts Missile Tests

Suryaa International Desk: North Korea has strongly denied allegations made by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) claiming the country was behind the theft of approximately $6 billion in crypto assets from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. Shortly after the statement was released, North Korea demonstrated its military strength by launching a series of missiles into the sea off its east coast.

According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, multiple missiles were launched from the Sondok coastal area toward the Sea of Japan. Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, criticized the U.S. allegations, describing them as an extension of Washington's hostile policy and claiming the FBI is making baseless accusations as part of a political conspiracy. She stated that there is no possibility of talks with the U.S. as long as their hostile stance continues.

The FBI has previously alleged that the state-sponsored hacker group "Trader Traitor" was responsible for the theft, which is considered one of the largest cyberattacks in cryptocurrency history. The U.S. Department of State has reiterated concerns that Pyongyang is systematically engaging in crypto theft to bypass international sanctions and fund its nuclear and missile projects.

North Korea has recently accelerated its weapons testing, including strategic cruise missiles with new cluster warheads and submarine launches. Defense experts suggest these tests may be precursors to supplying weapons to Russia. In response to the latest launches, South Korean and U.S. military forces have increased surveillance. Seoul defense officials have warned that North Korea's military provocations pose a significant threat to regional peace and security.
