Suryaa Entertainment Desk: Malayalam actress Atulya Chandra has filed a complaint against a doctor, alleging sexual assault and harassment. The actress stated that the doctor, who frequently visited her flat under the pretext of providing emergency medical treatment, allegedly administered sedatives and sexually harassed her. Based on this complaint, Kochi police have registered a criminal case against the doctor for rape and sexual harassment.
Simultaneously, the doctor has filed a counter-complaint alleging that he was called to the actress's flat for emergency medical treatment, where he was physically assaulted by several individuals. The doctor further alleged that his expensive mobile phone, smartwatch, wireless earphones, and other valuables worth approximately 3.5 lakh rupees were forcibly taken from him.
Acting on the doctor's complaint, police have arrested actress Atulya Chandra, actor and producer Bibin Perumbilli, and one other individual, who have been remanded.
In response, a relative of the actress submitted a statement to the police alleging that the doctor had been harassing them and had previously committed sexual assault using sedatives. Reports suggest that the doctor was called to the flat as part of a planned effort to confront him regarding his behavior.
Kochi police are currently investigating both sets of allegations. In addition to the three individuals already in custody, police are searching for nine other suspects allegedly involved in the assault and robbery. Special police teams have been deployed to locate the remaining suspects as the investigation continues.
