Suryaa National Desk: The Indian government’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), designed to foster innovation and creativity among youth, is expanding its reach internationally. The initiative, which focuses on providing students with an understanding of modern technology from the school level, is being extended to Sri Lanka.
Official sources stated that the Indian High Commission in Colombo is taking special initiatives to provide support for scientific approaches and hands-on technology education to Sri Lankan students. The successful model of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs)—which provides training in fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things—is being transferred to the Sri Lankan education system.
The primary objective of this international collaboration is to inspire creative thinking and develop problem-solving skills among students in Sri Lanka. Analysts suggest that this cooperation will strengthen technical and educational ties between the two nations. This development serves as an example of India’s technological partnership policy aimed at fostering mutual cooperation among Global South countries. Experts anticipate that these educational reforms, which establish a foundation for future innovators and entrepreneurs, may expand to other countries in the future.
