Suryaa National Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the cyclone formed in the Bay of Bengal is unlikely to impact West Bengal. However, the weather department indicated that light to moderate rain is expected in several parts of the state until the morning of November 4. Following this, the weather across the state is expected to turn dry, with minimum temperatures likely to gradually decrease by three to four degrees Celsius over the next three days.
The IMD explained that the cyclone's intensity is concentrated on the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, having crossed the coast near Ongole and moving in a north-northwest direction. Although this weather system has no direct connection to West Bengal, officials noted that local conditions may lead to rain in some areas. Light rain or thundershowers are expected in isolated areas of the Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
Light to moderate rain is also possible in some parts of North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, East Medinipur, West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, and Purulia districts. The weather department stated that dry weather will return to the state starting Wednesday. Officials advised the public not to believe rumors, noting that weather experts are continuously monitoring the cyclone's movement.
