Suryaa National Desk: Srinagar Lok Sabha MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has resigned from the primary membership of the National Conference and his Lok Sabha seat. He announced his decision in protest against the stance of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and party leader Farooq Abdullah.
Mehdi alleged that Omar Abdullah has adopted a submissive approach toward the central government. He claimed the National Conference has compromised on key promises, including the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 and the release of political prisoners. Furthermore, he criticized the Abdullah family, alleging they treat Jammu and Kashmir as their personal estate and have ignored public promises by yielding to the BJP. This resignation has caused significant political tension within the Omar Abdullah government and the National Conference.
