Surya Manakondur: Local woman Pakala Sreelakshmi has alleged that illegal pipelines have been installed in the DBM-4 irrigation canal under Annaram village and obstructing the flow of water. On August 18, the Irrigation Department lodged a written complaint with EE Srinivas, but no action was taken to remove the illegal pipelines, she expressed her grief.
She alleged that the government property was being damaged due to the negligence of the authorities and there were suspicions that they were promoting illegal constructions. As there was no response from the authorities, she finally approached the High Court for justice (W.P.No. 35719/2026).
Pakala Sreelakshmi disclosed that the Hon'ble High Court had expressed deep concern during the inquiry regarding the construction of illegal pipelines in the canal and the negligent attitude of the officials. She demanded that the higher authorities should respond and conduct a thorough investigation on the DBM-4 canal to remove the illegal pipelines and ensure that the farmers get irrigation water.
