A huge oil rig belonging to the famous international oil drilling company 'Borr Drilling' has sunk in the sea. An employee of Indian origin lost his life when the huge rig, equivalent to the size of about 300 Boeing 747s, accidentally sank.

Reuters news agency revealed that the Indian was the first person to die in the accident. Rig mast sunk into seabed: The accident occurred while performing duties near Mayumba, Gabon coast. One of the strong legs that hold the jackup oil rig in the seabed has unexpectedly sunk deeper into the seabed. As a result, the rig lost its balance and suddenly tipped to one side and sank into the sea water within a short time. More than 100 crew members were reportedly on board the rig at the time of the accident.

Four more missing ongoing search: Officials have confirmed that one Indian died in the accident and four others are missing. Of the four missing persons, three are Gabonese nationals and the other is an expatriate. The Gabonese Coast Guard, rescue ships and helicopters are continuing to search the sea for the missing people. The Indian Embassy is coordinating with the local authorities to officially verify the details of the deceased Indian employee and provide information to the home country.
