Suryaa Sports Desk: Delhi head coach and former cricketer Vijay Dahiya has shared his views regarding star batter Virat Kohli’s potential participation in the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s domestic tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Dahiya stated that if Kohli plays in the domestic tournament, he would ensure the batter remains in the dressing room to guide young players.
Dahiya expressed that the presence of a legendary player like Kohli would be highly beneficial for the careers of young cricketers, describing his journey as a significant lesson. Noting that Kohli performed well in the previous season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a ten-year hiatus, the coach hopes the player will share his experience with younger teammates again.
Dahiya emphasized that young players should learn values such as dedication, hard work, and the discipline required for national team representation from Kohli. Having observed Kohli's growth closely, Dahiya believes that sharing those experiences with younger players would bring about positive changes.
While Kohli is currently occupied with international matches for Team India, clarity regarding his participation in the domestic tournament is still awaited. Dahiya’s comments have become a topic of discussion in cricket circles, as he noted that the guidance of senior players boosts the confidence of those playing domestic cricket and expressed readiness to utilize Kohli’s services.
