Speaking to the reporters who met him on Wednesday, Arnab said that his staff and concerned officials had reached the reservoir on Wednesday morning, anticipating that the water level of the reservoir would rise due to Cyclone Arnab. The maximum water level of Pedderu reservoir is 137 meters and when we saw that the water level reached 136.6 meters in the reservoir, it was informed that the spillway gates 2 were opened at six o'clock in the morning and three thousand cusecs of water was released per second. Madugula, Butchayyapet, Chodavaram, Anakapalli, Rambilli and revenue officers of Mandals below the reservoir and police cars were alerted.
He also said that people living below the reservoir should not enter the river and should not cross the river from one side to the other. It has been informed that the evolution of the released water will be gradually increased.
