Turkey has expressed deep concern over the ongoing attacks targeting commercial ships in the Black Sea (Black Sea) region. Turkey's Ministry of Defense has warned that due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, there is a great threat to the general cargo ships plying the sea route.

Turkey has made it clear that further escalation of tensions in the region will seriously disrupt the international supply system as well as global food security. It has issued stern warnings to both countries not to turn Black Sea into a new war zone. It seems that Turkey has accelerated diplomatic contacts with the authorities of both countries for some time in order to protect regional security. Turkish foreign sources have expressed concern that attacks on ships passing through the Black Sea are not only causing loss of crew lives, but also seriously disrupting the transportation of grain stocks and other essentials to the international market.

Ankara warns that the safety of commercial ships must be guaranteed in compliance with international maritime laws, otherwise these developments will have a serious impact on the global economy. Turkey has so far strategically prevented the war from spreading beyond the Black Sea by strictly enforcing the provisions of the Montreux Convention. But in view of the coming winter, experts are of the opinion that there is a need to tighten the security on the transport routes. Turkey strongly urges both countries to exercise restraint and seek peaceful means through negotiations, saying that if the attacks on commercial ships do not stop immediately, the region risks further destabilization.
