Team India's star pacer Arshdeep Singh has created a rare world record in international Twenty20 cricket. The left-arm pacer, who took a wicket in the recent third Twenty20 match against New Zealand, has now joined Ireland's Joshua Little as the highest wicket-taker among bowlers from Test status in a calendar year. While Joshua Little took 39 wickets in 2022, Arshdeep has taken exactly all wickets in 30 matches so far this year. With a few more matches left for the Indian team, Arshdeep has a golden chance to make this record his own.
In the third Twenty20 match against New Zealand, Arshdeep Singh took his quota of 33 runs in four overs and took one wicket. In this match, the Indian team put up an excellent performance and won the match by six wickets, clinching the five-match series with two matches remaining. Arshdeep, who made his debut in international Twenty20 in 2022, proved his talent in a short period of time and took one hundred and ninety nine wickets in one hundred and two matches so far. If he takes one more wicket, he will complete the milestone of one hundred and fifty wickets in Twenty20 Internationals and create a new history. It is remarkable that Arshdeep continues to be the Indian bowler who has already taken the most wickets in this short format. In the third Twenty20 of this series, young opener Abhishek Sharma showed the opposition bowlers dots with his destructive batting.
Team India successfully smashed the huge target of one hundred and ninety nine runs set by New Zealand in just thirteen points in two overs. Abhishek Sharma scored one hundred and thirteen runs off thirty eight balls to single-handedly lead India to victory, while off-spinner Vaibhav Suryavanshi played his part in the team's win with forty five runs off eighteen balls. As the Indian team is advancing with the performance of the team, there is a flood of praise in the sports community. Also Read: Shadman Islam is unbeaten, one run away from a century.
